Candidate and Transfer Welcome Dinner! |
Thursday, 12 February 2009 |
All members of the patrol family are invited to join us in celebrating the end of training and to welcome the 10 new candidates and transfers onto the patrol. We will also be recognizing those patrollers who participated in toboggan training to obtain additional certifications (e.g. Aux to Alpine). And as always, the highlight of the evening will be the passing of Ms. China Chicken Patroller from Stewart Harding to a deserving member of this years candidate / transfer class; I wonder what transgression will earn someone the distinction of skiing and traveling for the next year with our well traveled Fowl friend. Dinner and reception will begin at ~ 6:00 PM on Saturday February 21st in the patrol building. Hope to see you there! |

We invite all who are interested in dramatically raising their skills as patrollers to join us this season for the highest level of training offered at our mountain: the Senior Program. This is a great way to upgrade your skills, have fun and gain camaraderie by skiing and training with patrollers from not only Central, but from all over the Northwest Region. Check out the flyer for more info or contact Tanya Friedman or Nicole Dodge for more info. |

NEW High-Speed Quad at Silver Fir |
Wednesday, 02 July 2008 |
Our prayers have been answered...and any of you who endured the sedate ride up to enjoy Silver Fir’s awesome tree-lined runs, cruisers, and powder stashes can surely relate! After recent approval of the project by the U.S. Forest Service, we are proud to announce that next season you can expect a bright, shiny and FAST new high-speed quad chair to be in place of the current triple chair (which has been there since 1988 if you're wondering). Your ride time will shrink from it's current 10-plus minutes to just over 4! Cruising Silver Fir just got a lot more fun. More Info Here |

Attend the Spring General Meeting! |
Monday, 07 April 2008 |
There are several reasons for everyone to attend this meeting, it is as close as mandatory as you can get for a voluntary organization, each patroller gets 1/2 duty credit, it is an opportunity to nominate fellow patrollers for our various patroller and outstanding patroller awards, and it is an opportunity for patrollers to put their names forward for one of five vacant patrol board positions that become available this spring. Let's all come together and support our patrol by attending this meeting. Click here for time and location details. |

Patrollers have been asking for a Toboggan Enhancement Seminar in the spring instead of going to Mt. Hood in June. Your request has been heard and we will hold a TES and a SES at Mt. Baker April 19 and 20, 2008. We are offering both the TES and SES on both Saturday and Sunday to allow you to attend a different clinic each day or attend only one clinic on one of the days. These clinics count for senior electives, so if you need one or two, here is your chance! Click here for more details and registration info. |

Once again we as members of the National Ski Patrol have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the Skiing and Boarding public. The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) is sponsoring its annual Safety Week, January 19th through the 26th, 2008. Among other things, the program is emphasizing the key phrase “Sit Still, Hold On”. The Summit is offering a FREE Big S Unlimited season pass as the Grand Prize for the individual who sends them photos depicting the message of chair safety. Runner-up prize will be a $50 gift certificate. Check out the Central Patrol Safety Story or the Summit website for more info. |
